New formula predicts Ganjam goat weight more accurately than traditional method.
Researchers compared different methods to predict the weight of Ganjam goats using their chest girth. They found that polynomial regression of order two was the most accurate, followed by third order polynomial regression, linear regression, and Shaeffer’s formula. Linear regression and second order polynomial regression were closest to the actual weights measured by electronic scales, while Shaeffer’s formula consistently overestimated the weights.
