Central Iran watershed faces health crisis, urgent action needed for ecological security.
The study assessed the health and ecological security of a human-induced watershed in central Iran. By using a framework called pressure, state, response (PSR), the researchers analyzed the driving forces affecting the watershed, its current conditions, and the community's response to these forces. They found that 91% of the watershed is moderately healthy, while 9% is relatively unhealthy. Additionally, 41% of the area has relatively poor ecological security. These findings can help local managers make better decisions for managing the region's resources.
