Coastal aquifers at risk of overestimation due to tidal fluctuations
Tidal analysis can help us understand coastal aquifers without pumping out water. Traditional methods may overestimate how water moves in these aquifers. By studying how water levels change with tides, we found that the weight of the ocean on the seafloor affects aquifer properties. In aquifers with multiple layers, water movement between layers can make it harder to see tidal patterns accurately. This research helps us better predict how water moves in coastal areas.
