Intercropping Maize and Soybean Boosts Yields, Transforms Farming in Northwest China
Intercropping maize and soybean in Xinjiang, China can increase plant height and root growth compared to planting them separately. Maize is the dominant species in the intercropping system. The land utilization rate is improved with a maize/soybean land equivalent ratio of 1.18–1.26. This method can help increase yield and support sustainable development in the region.
