Dirty water and poor hygiene putting Indonesian children's health at risk
Unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and bad hygiene can harm children's health in poor countries. A study in Indonesia looked at kids in schools and found that not using a towel after washing hands can lead to stunted growth. Drinking tap water instead of tank water can also cause stunting and thinness. Using open containers for water storage can increase the risk of diarrhea. Almost all kids had poop germs on their hands, with girls having less than boys. Washing hands properly and using soap can reduce poop germs. Keeping drinking water clean at home and good personal hygiene are important for kids' health.
