Changing climate to increase rainfall intensity by up to 41.4% in Vietnam.
Rainfall patterns are changing due to climate change, which can affect drainage systems. Using old rainfall data may underestimate risks. This study looked at different rainfall distribution models for the Lower Da River Basin in Vietnam. The generalised extreme value model was found to be the best for predicting future rainfall intensity. The strongest changes in rainfall intensity are expected to range from 2.7% to 41.4% for different return periods under different climate scenarios.
