The study looked at whether investing in Drip Irrigation Systems for coconut farms in Sri Lanka is economically beneficial. Data from 13 coconut estates was used to calculate the costs and benefits of using drip irrigation. The results showed that almost all estates had a positive Net Present Value, Benefit-Cost Ratio over one, and Internal Rate of Return greater than the interest rate, indicating that investing in drip irrigation is financially viable. The technology can generate enough returns to cover the initial investment within one to three years.
