Women in Lesotho are not well-represented in legislative bodies. To address this, the country implemented gender quotas for local and national elections. However, the effectiveness of these quotas in increasing women's representation is debated. A study found that the gender quotas in Lesotho have not significantly improved women's representation in legislative bodies.
