Population growth in Selangor leads to resource scarcity and increased crime rates.
Population in Selangor changed from 1970 to 2000 due to growth. Data from censuses and reports were used to analyze demographic structure, growth, and challenges. Demographic maps were created using ArcGIS to show population changes. The study found changes in total population, age structure, gender ratio, ethnic groups, distribution, urban population, growth by district, and net migration. These changes led to issues like land scarcity, pollution, more elderly people, imbalanced population ratios, and higher crime rates. The population changes were influenced by natural factors and migration due to rapid economic growth. This made state planning harder.
