Project management effort positively impacts project profitability, especially for complex projects. Higher project complexity can lower profitability, but increased project management effort can offset this and lead to higher returns. This study shows that investing in project management can improve profitability in engineer-to-order projects, highlighting the importance of effective project management for success.
