Drought-prone areas thrive with Clarias batrachus fish farming success!
The study tested different small indigenous fish species in carp polyculture ponds in a drought-prone area to find the best species for farming. They tried three SIS fish species and monitored water quality and feeding. The treatment with Clarias batrachus had the highest fish yield and cost benefit ratio compared to the other species tested. More research is needed to optimize stocking density for this type of fish farming.
