The researchers developed a new recommendation system called CFPRec that predicts where users will go next based on their past behavior and future plans. By considering users' multi-step future preferences, the system can better understand their activity planning and improve recommendation accuracy. Tests on real data showed that CFPRec outperformed existing methods in suggesting points of interest to users.
