A new solar-assisted groundwater heat pump system was developed and tested in a cold region. By using a special heat storage module and control strategy, the system's performance was significantly improved. The new system had a higher performance coefficient, increased solar energy utilization, and maintained a higher groundwater temperature over time compared to the original system. This helps prevent the groundwater from getting colder each year due to system operation.
