Vibro-fluidised bed dryer boosts tea drying efficiency, but high exergy loss limits overall system performance.
The scientists looked into how well a tea drying system with a special dryer works. They checked the energy and a thing called 'exergy' (which measures energy quality). The system they looked at had three stages and used a vibro-fluid bed dryer. They saw that the system's energy efficiency was at 42%, while its exergy efficiency was lower, at just 7.2%. The exergy efficiency was low mostly because many parts of the system were not using energy well. More than half of the system's energy waste happened in the drying chambers. The researchers also checked how different conditions affected how well the system worked.
