Financial crisis boosts dividend payouts in Vietnamese stock market.
The study looked at how the financial crisis affected dividend payments by companies in the Vietnamese stock market. They found that during the crisis of 2008-2009, more companies paid dividends and the amount they paid out was higher. This was especially true for companies with lower debt and smaller size. Additionally, companies were less likely to skip dividend payments and more likely to start paying dividends or increase the amount they paid during the crisis.
