The study looked at how much money households in Kota Kinabalu need to live comfortably. They used a formula to calculate this amount and surveyed people in the area. The results showed that a worker in Kota Kinabalu needs RM 2541.36 per month to afford a decent standard of living. Factors like housing, food, transportation, healthcare, and education costs, as well as household size and number of workers, all play a role in determining the living wage. Authorities should consider these factors when setting minimum wage policies in urban areas like Kota Kinabalu.
