Securing Water, Energy, and Food for All: A Transformative Approach
The article discusses how to improve the security of water, energy, and food by efficiently allocating resources. The researchers developed a mathematical model to optimize the design and management of these resources. By analyzing different allocation schemes, they found that the approach can increase the security of water, energy, and food sectors by 14%, 44%, and 15% respectively, and overall security of the water-energy-food nexus by 25% in a case study of a Mexican state. This framework can be applied to other regions to enhance resource security.
