Vaccine cold chain failures put millions of children at risk in Bihar
Immunization is crucial for public health, but vaccines need to be stored properly to remain effective. A study in Bhojpur district assessed the cold chain system in primary health centers. They checked equipment availability, storage practices, and monitoring. Results showed most centers had average cold chain management scores, with none reaching a satisfactory level. Vaccine storage and micro-plans were good, but temperature monitoring and waste disposal needed improvement. The study suggests more supervision to enhance the cold chain system.
