Pruning higher buds leads to faster growth of ‘Cara Mia’ rose shoots.
Shoots of the ‘Cara Mia’ rose grow faster and are bigger when they come from higher buds on the parent shoot. Shoots from buds above the 10th or below the 6th leaf are shorter and weigh less. The size of the parent shoot also matters - bigger parent shoots lead to quicker growth, longer shoots, and heavier weight. Buds from larger shoots are bigger and have more leaves.
