Broad crested weirs are important in irrigation systems for measuring water flow. A study looked at how the shape of the weir affects flow efficiency. They found that the discharge coefficient increases with higher Froud Numbers. The best slope angles for the weir faces were 45° upstream and 60° downstream, resulting in a discharge coefficient of 0.644.
