Turning Chicken Poop into Power: New Renewable Energy Source Discovered
Researchers investigated using chicken manure, cow manure, and dragon fruit peel to produce biogas as a renewable energy source. By mixing these materials in a digester tank for 21 days, they found that a composition of 80% chicken manure, 10% cow manure, and 10% dragon fruit peel produced the highest methane gas value of 46.79%. This composition also resulted in the highest heating value of 25,965 kJ/kg. The study shows that a combination of poultry and fruit waste has potential for biogas production.
