Mothers' Knowledge on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Impacting Children's Health
The study aimed to understand what mothers of young children know, think, and do about water, sanitation, and hygiene. Researchers talked to 150 mothers with kids aged 6 months to 5 years in Bilaspur. They found that most mothers knew about the importance of clean water and handwashing, but many didn't know how to treat water properly. Having a toilet at home and education level influenced their knowledge. Overall, mothers had good knowledge about hand hygiene and open defecation risks, but not so much about treating drinking water.
