Managerial ability boosts environmental, social, and economic sustainability in Chinese firms, study reveals.
In this study, researchers examined how the skills of CEOs in Chinese companies impact their efforts towards better environmental, social, and economic practices. They looked at data from 2010 to 2019 and found that when CEOs have strong managerial abilities, companies tend to perform better in sustainability areas. Specifically, the study discovered that as CEO skills improve, social and economic sustainability in these firms also increase. These results stayed strong even after different kinds of testing. This research shows that the quality of a CEO's skills can influence how well a company carries out practices related to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Developing the management skills of CEOs can lead to improved sustainability, which is crucial for business success.
