Rising Temperatures Driving Alarming Increase in China's Evaporation Rates
Pan evaporation in China increased by 2.68 mm per year from 1988 to 2017, mainly due to rising air temperature. The study used a new method to analyze the factors affecting evaporation, like humidity, sunshine, temperature, and wind speed. Changes in humidity sensors caused some errors in the data, but the overall trend is clear: evaporation is going up because it's getting hotter.
