Miscanthus Biomass Could Fuel Sustainable Energy Revolution
The researchers studied using two types of Miscanthus plants to make solid biofuels. They collected samples from the plants in autumn and spring to compare the quality of the biomass. The Miscanthus × giganteus plants had better quality biomass in spring, meeting international standards for biofuel production. The other type, Miscanthus sinensis, had lower quality biomass but could still be used in biofuel mixtures.
