Research misconduct, like cheating in research, is common among students in Kenya. Institutions lack clear guidelines to prevent or manage this misconduct. The national regulator and institutions focus on preventing student plagiarism but not on fabrication or falsification. There is a need for clear guidelines at both national and institutional levels to address all forms of research misconduct and hold all perpetrators accountable.
