Ecosystem services boost human well-being, unlocking sustainable development goals.
The research looked at how nature's benefits affect people's well-being in Central and Western Inner Mongolia, focusing on things like clean water and natural resources. By using a special model, they discovered that services like supporting and regulating services play a big role in improving human well-being. These services not only help directly but also indirectly through a balance between what nature provides and what people need. They found that between 2000 and 2018, human well-being got better in the region. Understanding these connections can help make better decisions for managing landscapes sustainably.
