High sulfur levels in Iraqi oil products pose major environmental risks.
The study aimed to measure the levels of sulfur compounds in Iraqi crude oil, gasoline, and kerosene to understand the environmental and health risks associated with their use. Gas chromatography technology was used to analyze the concentration of sulfur compounds in these petroleum products. The research found that sulfur levels in crude oil differ significantly from those in gasoline and kerosene, highlighting the importance of monitoring and regulating sulfur content in oil and its derivatives to mitigate environmental and health impacts.
