Support for military dictatorship in Thailand shifts from antigovernment sentiment to policy preferences post-coup.
The article explores why people in Thailand supported military dictatorship. By analyzing social media data, it found that before the coup, support was based on being against the government. After the coup, support was based on different policy preferences. This study shows that people's reasons for supporting dictatorship changed before and after it was in power.
