Journal Database Overhaul Streamlines Information Access, Empowers Researchers Worldwide
The article describes how a journal database was created by designing a conceptual model first, then converting it into a logical data model. The researchers used an entity-relationship model to quickly create the conceptual model, which was later transformed into a relational database model. The initial model had one entity type and 25 attributes, but the final version had three entity types, 39 attributes, and three relationships. The relational model consisted of ten tables to store data and three tables to maintain relationships. This model can now be used to efficiently manage information related to the journal.
