Sperm quality declines with age, men urged to start families earlier
The study looked at how age and semen characteristics affect how sperm moves in men from Sichuan. They checked 18,200 volunteers to see how sperm volume, concentration, and shape relate to sperm motility. The results showed that as men get older, the quality of their sperm goes down. Higher sperm concentration is linked to better sperm movement. Also, after 40 years old, the semen quality of men notably decreases. So, age impacts sperm quality, with older men having lower quality sperm.
