Revolutionizing Rehabilitation: Strong Designs to Boost Treatment Effectiveness
The article discusses ways to improve research design in medical rehabilitation to better understand the effectiveness of treatments. It introduces two strong research designs - regression-discontinuity and multiple interrupted time-series - that are rarely used but can provide valuable insights. These designs are compared to randomized experiments and weaker designs like nonequivalent group designs. By using more randomized experimental and strong quasi-experimental designs, we can gain knowledge that will enhance the effectiveness of rehabilitation practice.
