New Strategies Promote Cooperation and Stability in Social Interactions
In the study, researchers found strategies for the Prisoner's Dilemma game that lead to cooperative outcomes in the long run. These strategies, called "good strategies", ensure both players receive fair payoffs. If either player deviates from these strategies, their own payoff decreases. This stabilizes cooperative behavior and prevents one player from taking advantage of the other. The researchers identified these good strategies and studied how they influence the evolution of cooperation.
