The study looked at how men and women in urban Guatemala divide their time between work and household tasks. Women generally spend more time on housework and childcare, while men spend more time on paid work. However, men who are married tend to help more with housework and childcare. Women's time allocation is influenced more by individual and household factors than men's. Education level affects how much time women spend on housework and childcare, with more educated women spending less time on housework but more time on childcare.
