Corn stover pellets get a boost from fermented soybean dregs, enhancing sustainability.
In this study, researchers looked at how adding wet-fermented soybean dregs affects the quality of corn stover pellets. They tested different amounts of wet soybean dregs and water in the pellets to see how it impacted their density, stability, and hardness. The findings showed that adding fermented soybean dregs improved the quality of the pellets, making them denser, more stable, and harder. Using too much water, however, could reduce the pellet quality. Adding 5-10% of fermented soybean dregs to corn stover resulted in pellets that were significantly better in terms of density, stability, and hardness. This research suggests that fermented soybean dregs can enhance the bonding between corn stover particles, leading to better-quality feed pellets.
