Urban heritage preservation redefines urbanity in global cities.
Urbanity in cities has been important for a long time, but it's not as obvious nowadays due to changes in global cities. People are now focusing more on preserving urban heritage, like memories and symbols. In Saint-Etienne, France, an exhibition about Algerian miners and the demolition of a significant building show how urbanity is valued by city residents, including the elites. Instead of just saving the physical cities, we are now more interested in preserving the values and meanings we associate with them.
