The researchers studied a slope on a highway in Vietnam that failed after heavy rain in 2019. They used concrete plates to protect the slope from rainfall and built a retaining wall afterwards. By analyzing the slope stability with software, they found that the slope was unstable before treatment but became stable after the retaining wall was built.
