The researchers developed a new image segmentation algorithm called IGA to improve the accuracy and efficiency of CT image segmentation. By combining genetic algorithm and OTSU algorithm, the IGA algorithm achieved a 92% operating efficiency and 97% segmentation accuracy, outperforming existing algorithms. This advancement can help doctors better identify lesions in CT images and enhance diagnostic accuracy.
