Indonesia Elevates Customary Law, Empowering Marginalized Communities in Legal System
The article discusses the importance of customary law in Indonesia's legal system, alongside Islamic law, ex-colonial law, and international treaties. Customary law has been overlooked and seen as inferior compared to other laws. The research shows that customary law is actually present in Indonesian legislation, legal principles, and court decisions. This means that customary law meets the requirements to be a primary source of law in Indonesia.
