Jeddah's Compact City Model Fails to Control Urban Sprawl
Urban sprawl is a big problem in cities, and Jeddah tried to fix it by using a compact city model. They wanted to see if it worked. They found that even though the city got more crowded, it didn't stop spreading out. The city didn't have good public transportation, so people still had to drive a lot. This made things like housing more expensive. To really fix urban sprawl, Jeddah needs better rules for building and more green spaces for people to enjoy.
