Italian Working Mothers Bear Unequal Burden of Family Duties, Study Finds.
Italian parents with full-time jobs are sharing family duties unevenly. From 2002 to 2014, the gaps in time spent on work and household tasks have decreased, but disparities in childcare and leisure remain. Mothers still do more total work and less leisure than fathers. However, fathers are more involved in quality childcare on weekends. Younger couples tend to share responsibilities more equally, but overall, family duties are still imbalanced between genders in Italy.
