Library digitization is the process of converting paper documents into digital ones to make them more accessible and preserve them. While libraries in developed countries are digitizing their resources, libraries in developing countries are not putting in the same effort. This chapter emphasizes the importance of library digitization in preserving and improving access to library resources. It discusses the benefits, tools, misconceptions, stages, and challenges of library digitization, as well as provides recommendations for libraries to enhance their digitization efforts.
