The study compared two methods to measure the availability of iron, manganese, copper, and zinc in two types of soil. They used DTPA and HCl as extractants and found that HCl gave the highest values for trace elements. The soils were treated with compost and fertilizer, and Amaranthus plants were grown for 42 days before testing.
