Independent Board Members Boost Dividends in Indonesian Manufacturing Companies.
The study looked at how ownership structure and board characteristics affect dividend payments in Indonesian manufacturing companies. They analyzed data from 2017-2021 and found that having independent board members and a larger firm size led to higher dividend payouts. Female board members also increased dividend yield. However, factors like institutional ownership, concentrated ownership, board size, and financial leverage did not impact dividend payments. Return on assets positively influenced dividend payouts but had no effect on dividend yield. This research can help company managers make better dividend policies and inform investors about the dividends they can expect from a company.
