Climate change and human activities reshape river flow in China.
The Bahe River in China is experiencing changes in streamflow and baseflow due to both climate change and human activities. The study analyzed data from 1959 to 2016 and found that precipitation has a strong impact on streamflow, while potential evapotranspiration affects baseflow. Human activities mainly influence streamflow and baseflow upstream, while climate change has a greater impact on baseflow midstream. The findings help us understand how the hydrological cycle responds to environmental changes in the region.
