The researchers studied the Hulusimpang Formation in Lampung to understand its facies and depositional environment. They identified seven facies, including tuff, claystone, and sandstone, grouped into four facies associations. The findings suggest that the Hulusimpang Formation was deposited in a Fluvial-Shallow Sea environment.
