The article reviews a new construction method called prefabricated volumetric modular construction (PVMC), where rooms are built off-site and then put together on-site. PVMC is faster, safer, and more environmentally friendly than traditional construction. However, there are challenges with joint connections and seismic behavior that need more research. Overall, PVMC has great potential but more studies are needed to improve its performance in earthquakes.
