Gendered social norms in Korea hinder wives from working full-time.
Gendered social norms in Korea influence how much unpaid work husbands and wives do. The study used data from Korean households to show that wives' unpaid work is affected by traditional views on gender roles, especially if they have children. Wives who do more unpaid work are less likely to work full-time. Changing these social norms is important to make the division of unpaid work more equal between husbands and wives.
