The article introduces a new method to discover complex business process models from data logs, focusing on processes with multiple sub-processes. By using a specialized model called multi-instance Petri nets, the researchers were able to accurately represent these intricate processes. Their approach outperformed existing techniques in discovering process models with multi-instance sub-processes, as shown in a cloud resource management case study.
