Millions in Sundarbans Struggle with Poverty Despite Vital Coastal Protection
The Sundarbans Reserved Forest supports the livelihoods of around 3.5 million people, including munda, fishermen, bawali, golpata collectors, and salt farmers. Many of these individuals work seasonally and face below-standard socio-economic conditions. The study used both primary and secondary data sources to examine the livelihood patterns of people in the Sundarbans Impact Zone.
